Who we are and what this covers

Alcohol Tracker° is operated by Abhinav Khanger (we, us, or our). This Privacy Policy applies to the Alcohol Tracker° iPhone and Apple Watch apps and the related website at alcoholdrinktracker.com (together, the Service).

The Service is designed around private, device-local tracking. There is no account creation, email/password login, social login, or cloud account for your drink diary. The app can be used offline for its core tracking features.

Information you enter and local storage

You may choose to enter information such as drinks, serving size, alcohol by volume, units or standard drinks, calories, cost, dates, goals, and other preferences used by the app to calculate summaries and estimates.

The core diary and its calculations are stored on your device so the app can work offline. We do not use an account system or a cloud database to provide access to your diary. Deleting the app or its local data may permanently delete that diary. Apple may include app data in device backups or other Apple services you enable; those services are controlled by Apple and are not operated by us.

Apple Health and HealthKit

If you choose to grant permission, Alcohol Tracker° can write alcoholic-beverage and estimated blood-alcohol-content data to Apple Health. You control this permission in Apple Health and your device privacy settings, and you can revoke it at any time.

HealthKit permissions are separate from app permissions. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising, sell it, or use it to build advertising profiles. The app does not replace a medical record, a laboratory test, or professional medical advice. Apple’s HealthKit privacy information is available in the Apple Developer documentation.

Service providers we use

We use a limited set of third-party services to operate the app. These providers may process pseudonymous identifiers, device and app information, purchase information, diagnostics, and the events configured for the app. We do not ask them to create an account for you.

RevenueCat

RevenueCat helps us validate App Store purchases, manage subscription or lifetime entitlements, and restore access. It may receive an anonymous app user identifier, device and app information, product identifiers, transaction details, and receipt or purchase-status information. Apple processes the payment; we do not receive your full payment-card number through the app. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.

Firebase

We use Firebase services provided by Google for app operations. Depending on the Firebase products enabled in a particular app version, this may include app-instance identifiers, device and operating-system information, crash or diagnostic information, configuration data, and app-usage information. Firebase does not provide your Alcohol Tracker° diary account because we do not offer one. See Google’s Firebase privacy and security information.

PostHog

PostHog helps us understand product usage and improve the app. Depending on the configuration, it may process a pseudonymous device or installation identifier, app version, device and operating-system information, event names, screen or feature interactions, and diagnostic context. We aim to keep event properties minimal and do not intentionally send HealthKit records or the full contents of your drink diary to PostHog. The PostHog iOS SDK can queue events on the device while offline and send them when a network connection becomes available. See PostHog’s Privacy Policy.

What we do not require

• No account, username, password, or social-login profile.
• No full payment-card details collected by us.
• No sale of your personal information or HealthKit data.
• No advertising profile built from your HealthKit data.
• No cloud diary account or server-side diary history used for core features.

Website, support, and communications

The website does not require an account. Like most websites, its hosting, security, and delivery providers may receive standard technical information such as an IP address, browser or device type, requested page, and request time in server logs.

If you contact us, we receive the email address and message you choose to send. We use that information to respond, troubleshoot, and keep a record of the request when reasonably necessary. Please avoid sending sensitive health information unless it is necessary for your request.

How information is used and shared

We use information to:

• provide, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the Service;
• process purchases, restore entitlements, and prevent fraud;
• understand aggregate product usage and improve features;
• respond to support requests; and
• comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect users and the Service.

We may share information with Apple, RevenueCat, Firebase, PostHog, hosting and security providers, professional advisers, or authorities when legally required. We may also transfer information as part of a merger, sale, financing, or similar business change. We do not sell personal information to data brokers or advertisers.

Retention and deletion

Local diary data generally remains on your device until you delete it, delete the app, or use an in-app deletion or reset control if available. Apple backups and Health data have their own retention and deletion controls.

RevenueCat, Firebase, PostHog, Apple, hosting providers, and support systems retain information according to their own policies and our configuration, for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, security, accounting, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. Aggregated information that no longer identifies a person may be retained.

Because there is no account, there is no account-deletion workflow. To ask us to review or delete information held by a service provider, email us at the address below. A provider may need the anonymous app user identifier or other technical details to find the relevant record.

Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can manage HealthKit permissions through Apple’s settings and can limit or reset local app data through your device.

To make a request, email metacortexlab@gmail.com. We may need to verify the request and may retain information where the law permits or requires it. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Security and international transfers

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No device, transmission, or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate contractual or other safeguards for international transfers. The provider’s own privacy policy may describe its locations and safeguards in more detail.

Children and policy changes

Alcohol Tracker° is intended for adults and is rated 18+ on the App Store. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

We may update this Privacy Policy when the Service, providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version on this page and update the date above. Your continued use after an update means the revised policy applies to future use, subject to any rights you have under applicable law.
